MADISON, S.D. -- Sophomore Hugo Ronnberg was named the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance earlier this week in the Northwest Iowa National Invitational. It marked the first time in his career he has earned the weekly conference honor.
Ronnberg helped guide the Bruins to the team title at the 14-team Northwest Iowa National Invite which was played at the par-72, 6,701-yard Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars, Iowa. The Bruins finished 10 strokes ahead of second-place Grand View.
A model of consistency, Ronnberg fired three consecutive rounds of 2-under par scores of 70 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 6-under par. He finished the tournament in fourth place in the field of 76 golfers.
Ronnberg recorded 14 birdies and 33 pars in the tournament.
Bellevue heads to Albert Lea, Minn. for the Conference Review to be held at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 26-27.
