MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University junior golfer Rodrigo Navarrete (Guadalajara, Mexico) has been selected as the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
The award is Navarrete's first this season and fifth of his Bruin career.
At the time of the release, Navarrete was second overall at the Battle at Primm while Bellevue was entering third round play with a four-stroke lead. He would go on to finish third overall and help Bellevue win the prestigious event for the first time.
Through Monday's first two rounds, Navarrete was 7-under (137) with scores of 68 and 69 on the 7,131-yard, par 72 Primm Valley Golf Course.
Navarrete followed up with a solid 2-over final round on Tuesday in challenging weather conditions to finished the tournament at 5-under (211).
