OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team shot the second-best round of the day to move up one spot to third place in the final standings at the Southern Plains Intercollegiate Classic being played at the 7,120-yard, par-72 Gaillardia Country Club.
Led by Floris-Jan Oosterhof's 1-over 73, the Bruins fired a team score of 12-over par 300 on the day for a three-round total of 914 (310-304-300). Oklahoma City won the team title at 880 after shooting a 6-over 294 on Tuesday (295-291-294). Texas Wesleyan placed second at 909 (303-295-311).
Oosterhof finished in a tie for 13th place in the 49-player field at 10-over par. Alex Zillig was the top BU golfer in the 54-hole tournament, finishing at 7-over par (75-73-75), good for 10th place.
Andre Becerra placed 18th at 15-over par (79-76-76). Cameron Lampe tied for 22nd place at 21-over (82-78-77). Rodrigo Navarette shot his best round of the tournament with a 4-over 76 to finish in 27th place at 23-over par.
University of Oklahoma's Riley Casey and Oklahoma State University's Ferdinand Muller tied for first place overall at 4-under par.
The tournament marks the conclusion of the Bruins' fall season. BU will resume play in March.
