Bellevue climbs to fourth at Flyer Intercollegiate

LEMONT, Ill. -- Andre Becerra fired a second round-low of 1-under (71) to help the Bellevue University men's golf team climb two spots to finish in fourth place at the 18-team Lewis Flyer Intercollegiate Classic.

With three of the top four finishers in the field, Indian Hills built on their 13-stroke lead to claim a 17-stroke (583-601) victory over Upper Iowa.

Parkland (605) took third place while Bellevue (615) and Northeastern State (615) tied for fourth place to round out the top five.

The field at the challenging Cog Hill Dubsdread Course was comprised of teams from all three NCAA Divisions, the NAIA, and junior colleges.

Individual Recap:

Andre Becerra (E, 73-71-144) tied for the individual title with Jesse MacNaughtan (Indian Hills CC) but MacNaughtan (E, 70-74-144) was named the tournament champion after applying a tiebreaker.

Floris-Jan Oosterhof clipped two strokes off his opening round score to post a 3-over second round 75 for a 36-hole total of 155 (+11). He climbed 27 spots in the team standings to finish in a tie 23rd place.

Tobias Santillan Tambosco matched Oosterhof's final score of 155 (+11) after shooting 81 on Tuesday. He was one of three Bruins involved in a nine-way tie for 23rd.

Golfing as an individual, Lautaro Marzilio backed up yesterday's 77 with a 78 in Tuesday's second round to finish in a tie for 23rd as well at 155 (+11).

Alex Zillig (+17) shot 82 on the day and Cameron Lampe (+19) carded an 83 to finish tied for 56th and 61st, respectively, with scores of 161 and 163.
