OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- After jumping out to a three-stroke lead after one round, the Bellevue University men's golf team rests in second place following two rounds of play on Tuesday in the season-opening U.C. Ferguson Classic.

Team Recap:

The No. 21-ranked Bruins posted a 3-under team score in the first round as they built an eight-stroke lead over No. 3-ranked Oklahoma City, which shot an even-par 284 as a team, through 18 holes.

Oklahoma City (557, -11) made a charge in Tuesday's second round with an 11-under effort, taking advantage of an even-par round from BU (565, -3) as the Stars take a firm eight-stroke lead into Wednesday's final round.

Central Baptist (580, +12), Grand View (581, +13), and Baker (583, +15) round out the top five in the 12-team field.

Individual Recap:

Andre Becerra (-3) and Alex Zillig (-2) both fired below-par first rounds while Floris-Jan Oosterhof (E) and Cameron Lampe (+2) rounded out the Bruin scorers. Lautaro Marzilio, the Bruins' fifth competitor, checked in at 9-over through 18 holes.

Becerra followed up his first round with a 1-under second round as he's tied for second, one stroke off the individual lead. Zillig and Oosterhof each turned in even-par performances in the second round and Lampe took a stroke off his first round score with a 1-over round. Marzilio trimmed nine strokes off his first round score to post a 2-over 73.

Emiel Van Geet (Southwestern Christian) is the overall leader at 5-under (137) with David Meyers (Oklahoma City) and Becerra tied for second at 4-under (138).

Zillig (140, -2) and Oosterhof (142, E) are in fifth and ninth place, respectively, overall. Lampe (145, +3) is tied for 14th and Marzilio (153, +11) jumped 10 spots from the first round into a tie for 41st in the 63-golfer field.
