BU moves up 7 spots, finishes 9th at Battle at Primm

PRIMM VALLEY, Nev. -- Three Bruins shot even par or better as the Bellevue University men's golf team moved up seven spots on Tuesday in the final round of the Battle at Primm. BU finished the tournament in ninth place in the 20-team tournament being played at the 6,841-yard, par-70 Primm Valley Golf Course. 

The Bruins fired the fourth-best team score on the day with a 3-under par team total of 277. BU finished the tournament at 24-over par with rounds of 290-297-277 (864). Bellevue made the biggest jump of any team in Tuesday's final round. 

Coastal Georgia captured the team title with a 12-under par total of 828 (284-270-274). Keiser and Oklahoma City both tied for second at 8-under par. 

Alex Zillig and Jose Alonso Garcia both finished in a tie for 21st in the 100-player field at 3-over par. Garcia shot the top BU round on the day with a 3-under 67. 

Andre Becerra carded a 2-under 68 on Tuesday, finishing the tournament at 6-over par, putting him in a tie for 33rd place. 

Juan Pablo Gomez tied for 62nd after shooting an even-par 70 on the day, finishing the tournament at 12-over par. 

Rodrigo Navarette shot a 3-over 73, placing him in a tie for 85th at 18-over par for the tournament. 

Eli Scott of Coastal Georgia won the individual title at 9-under par. His teammate, Mark David Johnson was one stroke back at 8-under. 

The Bruins will compete in the TPC Deere Run Classic in Silvis, Ill. on March 29-30.
