Junior James Parrott claimed his third MCAC Player of the Week honor of the 2011-12 season for his performances in the Bruins' three conference victories last week.
Parrott averaged 22.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last week in leading the seventh-ranked Bruins to a 3-0 record. In an 83-68 win at York College, he had 28 points and nine rebounds. For the week, he was 26-of-45 from the field (57.8 percent), including 7-for-17 from beyond the three-point line (41.2 percent).
Parrott led Bellevue to road victories at York (83-68), College of the Ozarks (74-63), and Central Baptist (86-79).
The Bruins (25-5, 13-1 MCAC) claimed the MCAC's regular season title and will host the MCAC Tournament this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25 in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Bellevue opens the tournament with a 7 p.m. matchup against fourth-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday night.
