POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, junior guard James Parrott was named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Player of the Week announced by the league office on Monday, Jan. 9.

Parrott averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 80 percent (20-for-25) from the field in leading the Bruins to a pair of non-conference wins at the McDonald's Cam Jam Classic hosted by College of the Ozarks. 

In a 102-73 win over Union (Ky.) College on Jan. 3, he poured in 34 points on 13-of-15 shooting from the field. He made four of his six three-point attempts and added six rebounds, three assists and two steals. 

For the season, Parrott leads the conference in scoring, averaging 21.4 ppg while pulling down 6.6 rpg and 2.7 apg. The Bryan High School product is also shooting 62.4 percent from the field and 46.0 percent from three-point range.

The Bruins are ranked seventh in the latest NAIA Division II coaches' poll and have an overall record of 12-4. BU will open conference play tomorrow night with a 7:00 p.m. contest against York College at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
