OMAHA, Neb. -- Reid Feeley turned in a dominant effort in game one as the Bellevue University baseball team split Waldorf University in a North Star Athletic Association double-header on Saturday afternoon at John Stella Field at Brown Park.

Bellevue (31-21, 15-5 NSAA) took the first game by a 5-2 margin but dropped game two 4-3 to Waldorf (19-26, 12-8 NSAA)

Game One: Bellevue 5, Waldorf 2

Reid Feeley (6-2) threw 7.2 innings of quality baseball, striking out a season-high 13 batters while limiting Waldorf to just two runs on six hits as BU picked up a 5-2 win to open the series.

The game was a pitching duel early on before Brandon Sparks put BU on the board with a two-run single through the left side in the bottom of the fourth.

JT Patterson doubled the Bruin lead with a two-run shot, his 10th of the year, to right field in the sixth inning. Gary Dixon made it back-to-back jacks with his sixth homer of the season down the left field line.

Waldorf scratched across single runs in each the seventh and eighth innings but that was as close as they would get.

Max Dwyer worked the ninth to earn his fifth save.

Waldorf's Jimmy Quirk (3-3) took the loss, surrendering five earned runs on five hits in five innings of work. Garret Munoz worked three hitless innings in relief.

Game Two: Waldorf 4, Bellevue 3

Heath Chapman (5-4) encountered early trouble but settled down to lead Waldorf to a 4-3 win with a complete game effort.

Bellevue wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with a two-run double from JT Patterson in the first inning.

Waldorf immediately responded with a two-run single from Jacob Tedesco in the second.

Matt Evans put BU ahead with a perfectly executed suicide squeeze to score Blake Macdonald from third in the bottom of the fourth.

Waldorf took their first lead of the day in the sixth inning with a double from Garrett Gillen that saw a pair of runs come in.

Stephen Knapp (5-2) took the loss for Bellevue. He allowed three earned runs (four total) on five hits in 5.2 innings while striking out six.
