FREMONT, Neb. -- Despite 13 hits the Bellevue University baseball team fell 12-9 to Midland University on Thursday evening in non-conference action at Midland's Moller Field.
Bellevue (30-20) saw their seven-game win streak come to a half with the loss while Midland (25-19) has now won three-straight games.

Midland out-hit BU 15-13 in a game devoid of pitching as the Warriors earned a split with Bellevue in the season series. It wasn't the second-straight game the Bruins played that eclipsed the three and a half hour mark; official game time was three hours and 50 minutes.
Midland opened the scoring with a three-run first inning thanks to Tanner Bos (RBI-double), Bailey Bliss (RBI-walk), and Gabriel Settles (RBI-fielder's choice).
The teams traded runs in the second before BU pulled to within a run on Riley Baasch's team-leading 14th home run of the year in the third.
Two runs in the fourth made it 6-3 in favor of the home side before BU put up three runs in the fifth and Midland answered with a four spot in the bottom half.
Baasch hit his second homer of the game in the sixth to cut a four-run lead in half.
Lumus Russell recorded an RBI grounder in the seventh to pull the Bruins within a run at 10-9 but that was as close as BU would get.
Bliss' two-run double in the seventh assured the Warriors a little breathing room headed into the late innings.
Bryan Smith (2-2) was awarded the win despite allowing three runs on three hits and a pair of walks in 2.1 innings on the bump.
Andrew Davidson loaded the bases in the ninth but worked his way out of trouble to earn his first save of the season.
Junior Ramirez (2-3) took the loss for the Bruins, allowing four runs in an inning-plus of work. Bailey Link and Dylan Thorp each recorded a scoreless inning of relief in the loss.
Both teams had additional opportunities to score runs but combined to leave 24 runners stranded on base.

Bellevue wraps up the regular season this weekend when they host Waldorf University for a four-game North Star series. The Bruins and Warriors are scheduled to square off at John Stella Field at Brown Park on Saturday (noon) and against from Don Roddy Field on the campus of Bellevue East High School on Sunday (noon).
