BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Sophomore Stephan Meyer have been named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference. The right-hander guided the Bruins to their first MCAC Tournament Championship since 2011 and fifth straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
Meyer, who earns Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season, was lights out in a second round victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan. The lanky right-hander threw all nine innings in a 3-2 victory while striking out eight batters and allowing just two runs (one earned) while scattering eight hits.
Bellevue returns to the diamond on Tuesday, May 12 when they host the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
