POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- For the first time in his career, junior Steve Sarcone was awarded the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week.
The Utica, N.Y. native recorded nine strikeouts and gave up just one hit, without a walk, in Bellevue's 2-0 win over Central Christian on April 19.
For the season, Sarcone is 4-3 with three saves, 43 strikeouts and a 1.58 ERA in 40 innings of work on the mound.
The 21st-ranked Bruins (30-13-2, 14-6 MCAC) will play their final regular season conference series when they host Central Baptist College on Friday-Saturday, April 25-26 at Westgate Field.
