OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bruin offense was firing on all cylinders as the 12th-ranked Bellevue University baseball team pounded out 29 hits in a 10-7, 22-4 doubleheader sweep over College of the Ozarks Friday afternoon in MCAC action at Westgate field. 

The Bruins improved to 41-7-1 on the season and 19-3 in the MCAC. Ozarks fell to 19-22 overall and 8-12 in league play. 

The four-game series will conclude on Saturday (April 27) with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Westgate Field. Bellevue's 10 seniors will be honored in between games. 

Game 1: Bellevue 10, College of the Ozarks 7

Nate Mullins, Beau Dahmen and Zack Clark collected three hits apiece and the Bruins held off a late Ozarks rally as BU held on for the 10-7 win in the opener.

After the Bobcats took an early 1-0 lead on a throwing error in the top of the first, BU exploded for eight runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third. The Bruins also had three stolen bases in the inning. Kyle Kinman (2), Tanner Moore, Mullins, Dahmen and Clark all drove in runs in the third.

A two-run homer by Mullins pushed the BU lead to 10-1 in the fourth frame. Mullins finished 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs.

In the top of the ninth, Eddy Devora laced a two-run homer and Cody Hall belted a grand slam to make the final, 10-7.

Robert Greco got the win, improving to 8-2 on the season, scattering two hits with 10 strikeouts, two walks and one unearned run in eight innings of work. 

Timmy Towsend (3-4) suffered the loss, allowing 14 hits and 10 runs with two strikeouts in seven innings. 

Game 2: Bellevue 22, College of the Ozarks 4

The Bruins recorded 15 hits, including six players with two hits en route to the 22-4 win in the nightcap. Moore went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the BU offense. 

The Bobcats grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, scoring on an RBI single to left field by Hall and a bases-loaded fielding error by Dahmen. 

Bellevue answered in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on a two-run double by Clark and a pair of two-run homers by Ryan Knutz and Moore, giving BU a 6-2 advantage. 

A two-run throwing error by Bobcat pitcher Joshua Neufeld and a two-run single by Kinman gave the Bruins an 10-2 lead in the third.

The Bruins erupted for eight runs in the fourth, highlighted by a three-run double by Mullins, a two-run single by Devin Ferguson, a one-run double by Brian Embery and an RBI double by Dusty Kerns, to push the lead to 18-2.

A two-run double by Moore highlighted a four-run fifth inning, extending the margin to 22-2.

Ozarks added a third run in the top of the sixth on an RBI double by Trevor Bowling and another on a bases-loaded fielder's choice RBI by Ricky Vanderpool in the seventh. 

Michael Calderon (6-1) collected the win, allowing seven hits and one unearned run, while striking out four and walking three in six innings of work.
