POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The Bellevue University baseball program swept the weekly MCAC honors as junior Ricky Holm was named the MCAC Pitcher of the Week and junior Kyle Kinman earned MCAC Player of the Week honors.
Holm went 2-0 on the week, while registering 19 strikeouts in 14 innings with just three walks. He surrendered only one extra-base hit on the week.
In the Warner University Invitational title game, Holm tossed a complete-game four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks as the Bruins took home the championship with an 8-1 win over the host school, Warner University.
In the Bruins' seven games last week, Kinman batted .393 with four doubles, one triple, one home run, and eight RBIs. In Bellevue's 11-3 win over Lourdes University on March 8, Kinman went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, a double, and two runs scored.
Kinman also went 1-0 on the mound, scattering six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in a complete-game 4-2 victory over Siena Heights University on March 7.
The Bruins open conference play this Friday-Saturday, March 15-16, with a four-game series at Central Baptist College. Both doubleheaders begin at 1 p.m.
