Baseball sweeps weekly MCAC honors
The Bellevue University baseball team swept the weekly Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for the week ending April 1, with outfielder Tanner Moore earning MCAC Player of the Week honors and senior left-hander Josh Trejo gaining MCAC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

The duo helped the Bruins sweep a four-game conference series last weekend at York College. Bellevue, which has now won seven-straight games, leads the MCAC with a 7-1 league record and a 22-12 overall mark.

Moore hit .529 last week (9-for-17) with two homers, two doubles, 11 RBIs and eight runs scored as the Bruins went 5-0.  In a 13-2 win over York, he went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs scored and four RBIs.

Trejo allowed just one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts in a complete-game 13-2 win over York College last week.

Bellevue plays at Doane today with a single nine-inning contest beginning a 4 p.m. The Bruins return home this weekend for a four-game non-conference series with Dakota State University on Friday-Saturday, April 5-6, at Westgate Field.
