Moore highlights all-Nebraska NAIA baseball team

Junior outfielder Tanner Moore was named the honorary captain of the Omaha World-Herald's all-Nebraska NAIA baseball team in an announcement made today.

Joining Moore on the first team were junior left-handed pitcher Michael Calderon, senior first baseman Brandon Thompson, senior second basemen Spencer Duggan, and senior third basemen Sean Mattson Sean Mattson.

Moore earned second team NAIA All-American honors this season and was also named the MCAC Player of the Year while leading the Bruins with a .388 batting average, along with 51 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 51 RBIs and nine stolen bases. 

Calderon was named the 2012 MCAC Pitcher of the Year while Thompson and Mattson both gained first team all-MCAC accolades. Duggan was named to the all-MCAC second team. 

Bruins earning honorable mention NAIA all-Nebraska honors included junior right-handed pitcher Robert Greco, senior designated hitter Lance Lutz, junior right-handed pitcher Kody McFarland, and senior short stop Tylor Pavel

The 2012 Bruins finished with a 40-21 overall record, winning the MCAC regular season with a 17-3 mark, advancing the NAIA National Tournament for the second-straight year.
