Local standout, Morrow, signs with Bruin baseball
The Bellevue University baseball program under head coach Duane Monlux announced today the signing of local high school standout Paul Morrow (Omaha, Neb./Benson HS) to a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2011.

Morrow was a four-time all-state honorable mention selection as a utility player at Omaha Benson High School under coach Langston Frison. He led the Bunnies in strikeouts as a senior and ranked in the top 10 in the state in RBIs. He also ranked in the top-six in the state in strikeouts in 2010 and 2011. Morrow was selected to play in the 2011 Collin-Orcutt All-Star game.

A versatile athlete, Morrow earned all-state honorable mention honors in football and qualified for the Nebraska State Swimming Championships four-straight years.

An excellent student, Morrow was named to Benson's Honor Roll five quarters. His intended major at BU is biology.

Morrow's older sister, Taylor, played softball at Dana College.

"We are happy with the Paul Morrow signing," said Monlux. "He is a quality, local kid that we are looking forward to being in our program for the upcoming years."

Morrow joins the Bruins' earlier signees Aaron Beil (Omaha, Neb.), Ryan Knutz (Rochester, Wash.), Kody McFarland (Sugar City, Idaho), Tanner Moore (Omaha, Neb.), Tyler Blood (Salt Lake City, Utah), and Beau Dahmen (Genesee, Idaho) in the 2011-12 recruiting class.

The 2011 Bruins finished the season with a 31-22 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round after winning the 2011 MCAC Tournament title.
