
Kasel's hat trick fuels BU goal-fest

HIALEAH, Fla. -- Adi Kasel scored a hat trick and Mia Hurt added two goals to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 7-1 victory over Florida National University on Saturday.
With the victory, the Bruins improve to 7-1-2 on the season while the loss drops FNU to 0-4-1.
Kasel found the back of the net twice within a five-minute span to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the 20th minute. Katrina Avila assisted the first goal and Maju Serrano picked up the assist on the second.
Prescillia Casu added on with her unassisted strike in the 24th minute, her fourth of the season.
Latyfath Ubeda found a goal for the Conquistadors in the 43rd minute and the Bruins carried a 3-1 lead into the half.
Serrano assisted on Hurt's first goal in the 62nd minute and Hurt scored a second, her fourth of the year, in the 78th minute.
Kasel scored her fifth goal of the season to finish off her hat trick in the game's 80th minute.
Beth Cowd found the back of the net with an insurance strike in the 85th minute, her first goal of the year.
Abril Cura made a pair of saves in goal for the Bruins who out-shot FNU 29-4. Sarah Lugo totaled nine saves in net for the Conquistadors who conceded a 16-3 edge in shots on goal to BU.
Bellevue travels to Sioux City, Iowa to face Briar Cliff University on Wednesday, Oct. 1 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
