LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team received goals from six different players en route to a 6-2 victory over Warner University on Thursday evening at the Royals Soccer Field.
With the victory, Bellevue improves to 6-1-2 while the loss drops Warner to 2-5-1 on the year.
Prescillia Casu, Mia Hurt, Olivia Wahl, Gudrun Pala, Sam Mausbach, and Elisa Rousseau all found the back of the net for BU. Hurt added an assist to her scoresheet and Maju Serrano set up three goals with assists.
Casu opened the scoring in the game's seventh minute with her third goal of the season off an assist from Hurt, though Shelby Cape equalized for Warner just 1:22 later.
Hurt scored her second of the year in the 24th minute to put the Bruins ahead 2-1 and they carried that lead into the halftime break, along with a 12-5 advantage in shots.
Wahl put the Bruins 3-1 ahead in the 55th minute, her second of the year, before Serrano began her playmaking setting up goals for Pala in the 61st minute and Mausbach in the 76th, respectively. Pala's goal was her first as a Bruin while Mausbach found the back of the net for the third time.
Gianna Bellomo popped a goal in for Warner less than a minute after Mausbach and Rousseau capped the scoring in the game's final moments with her first collegiate goal off Serrano's hat trick assist.
Abril Cura finished with one save for BU and Gabriella Gaitan made six saves in goal for the Royals in the loss.
The Bruins out-shot their hosts 21-8 on the evening and 14-3 on goal in addition to winning an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Bellevue returns to action on Saturday, Sept. when they meet Florida National University for a 9 a.m. Central (10 a.m. Eastern) kickoff in Hialeah, Fla.
