
Ricciardi collects season's first CAC Defensive Player of the Week award

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University freshman Alessia Ricciardi (Milan, Italy) was cited by the Continental Athletic Conference as the CAC's Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Ricciardi began her collegiate career with a pair of shutouts through the Bruins' first three games. In totaling seven saves through three games, she has posted an .875 save percentage and 0.33 goals against average.
Last week, Ricciardi made a season-high six saves in a draw at Morningside University. She also stopped the lone shot on goal she saw in Saturday's win over Tabor College.
Bellevue, receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll, is 2-0-1 on the year. The Bruins next play on Wednesday, Aug. 30 when they welcome Hastings College to Papillion Landing for an 8 p.m. contest.
