FOREST CITY, Iowa -- A pair of early goals set the tone as the Bellevue University women's soccer team defeated Waldorf University 3-0 in the Bruins' Continental Athletic Conference opener.

Sami Reding and Ximena Jauregui scored less than five minutes apart to shoot Bellevue out to an early 2-0 lead, a lead they never relinquished.

Reding opened the scoring in the seventh minute, taking a pass from Millie Hopkisson before scoring her team-E ninth goal of the year.

Just 4:24 later, Jauregui continued her fine run of form, scoring her sixth goal of the year set up by Sinai Bernal.

The game remained 2-0 by halftime despite BU dominating to a 13-1 advantage in shots.

Emma Stock provided the Bruins an insurance stroke in the 77th minute, scoring her second goal of the year, unassisted.

Jenn Amaro stopped all five shots she faced to notch her fifth shutout of the season.

Bellevue out-shot Waldorf 18-6 on the afternoon, 10-5 on goal, and collected a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Maria Gonzalez finished the match with seven saves for Waldorf in the loss.
