Bruins push win-streak to 8-straight with 2-0 win over Waldorf

PAPILLION, Neb. -- Daisy Ochoa-Rojas and Bruna Cola Bielski scored second half goals to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team past Waldorf University by a 2-0 score on Wednesday evening at Papillion Landing.

With their eighth-straight victory, Bellevue improved their overall record to 12-2-0. Conversely, Waldorf dropped to .500, at 6-6-0, with the loss.

Both teams racked up shots in the first half with Waldorf holding a 6-4 advantage in the opening 45 minutes. Despite the 10 combined shots, the game was scoreless at halftime.

Daisy Ochoa-Rojas broke a scoreless tie with her 68th minute goal to give Bellevue a 1-0 lead. The goal, her first of the season and Bruin career, came via a Bruna Cola Bielski assist.

Less than a minute later, Cola Bielski doubled the BU lead with her seventh goal of the year.

Sabrina Staufenbiel finished with five saves to earn the shutout win.

Sara Rodriguez totaled 10 saves for the Warriors in the loss.

Bellevue finished with an 18-7 advantage in shots, including a 12-5 edge in shots on goal. Additionally, the Bruins doubled up Waldorf in corner kicks by a margin of 6-3.

Morgan McIlnay turned in another consistent performance and Courtney Wallingford propelled the Bruins going forward in the second half.

"It's a great win for us as Waldorf are organized and dangerous going forward. We were very pleased with our second half performance as we controlled the game. Daisy scored a fantastic goal and I'm so happy for her as she hasn't played in the last few games. We will enjoy the much-needed rest now until our final home game of the season."
