MADISON, S.D. -- The 2016 North Star Athletic Association Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams and post-season awards were announced after the conclusion of the championship match at Collin Field in Omaha, Neb. Sunday afternoon.
Bellevue claimed a championship double, winning both the regular-season and tournament championships. Following the team's success, the Bruins began the post-season by hauling in hardware.
BU won a pair of major awards and landed 10 on the all-conference teams. Five Bruins were named to the first team and five more were honored on the second team.
The All-NSAA First Team consists of four forwards, four midfielders, four defenders, and a goalkeeper. The Second Team also included a 13-member field.
In the major awards program, senior Victoria Perez earned distinction as the NSAA's Defensive Player of the Year and Andy Nicolarsen was named NSAA Coach of the Year. Offensive Player of the Year went to Jamestown's Connie Contreras while Newcomer of the Year was awarded to Viterbo's Sienna Fraser.
Earning a place on the All-NSAA First Team were senior forward Jordyn Seidel, junior midfielder Margie Garcia, sophomore midfielder Reyvin Hernandez, senior defender Victoria Perez, and junior goalkeeper Laurence Rodier.
Being named to the All-NSAA Second Team were junior forward Madison Lambert, sophomore forward Maiwut Dar, junior midfielder Lauren Clark, senior defender Eliany Parra, and junior defender Kristin Hanson.
