BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Madison Lambert's 99th minute game-winner sent the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory College of Saint Mary on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game at Bellevue Soccer Club.

Bellevue improves to 7-4-1 with their third victory in their last four outings while College of Saint Mary falls to 6-8-0 overall.

CSM opened the scoring in the game's 15th minute with her fifth goal of the season. Following a BU foul, the Flames' Shayna Maypole played a quick restart to Liza Martinez who sent in a cross that Laurence Rodier couldn't clear with her punch. Her attempted clear went to the head of Elli McMeekin who headed the ball into the net for a 1-0 CSM advantage.

Bellevue responded with the equalizer in the 28th minute when Reyvin Hernandez found the back of the net for her first goal as a Bruin. Morgan Dillon, the Flames' keeper, went to clear a ball but her clearance went right to the feet of Reyvin Hernandez who sent in an attempt from beyond 25 yards out the beat Dillon low to level the game at a goal apiece.

The Bruins controlled play in the first half, racking up a 14-2 advantage in shots (4-2 on goal) and a large portion of the possession. They earned four corners to none for the Flames in the opening half.

The wind played a major factor in this one as the ball largely stayed on the south half of the field.

The Bruins had a chance to take the lead in the 56th minute. Maiwut Dar took a pass into the box and the CSM keeper and a defender ran into each other taking them out of the play. Dar sent a cross in front just off the line but Cassie Dauber cleared the cross taking away the immediate threat.

In the 85th minute Jordyn Seidel sent a cross into the box that Lambert put her head to but the attempt hit the crossbar. It was the third BU shot of the game to deflect off the crossbar.

It took until the 99th minute but Bellevue earned the victory. Hernandez sent in a shot from deep that bounded away from the keeper. Seidel tracked down the rebound and sent in a cross to Lambert who sent a one-timer into the vacated net for the victory with 1:07 to play in the first overtime.

Bellevue out-shot CSM 24-6 (5-3 on goal) for the match and collected all nine corner kicks on the afternoon. Rodier made a pair of saves for Bellevue and Dillon stopped three shots for College of Saint Mary.

BU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 15 when they host the University of Jamestown at noon in a North Star Athletic Association match at Bellevue Soccer Club.
