
Darkoah, Petersen earn weekly conference honors
Mercy Darkoah was named the MCAC Offensive Player of the Week while Kate Petersen earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University women's soccer players Mercy Darkoah and Kate Petersen have been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Offensive and Defensive players of the week, announced today.
Darkoah netted the game-winning goal in BU's 3-2 double-overtime win at College of St. Mary on Nov. 6.
For the season, Darkoah has a team-high eight goals, 45 shots and 30 shots on goal. She ranks second in assists (5) and game-winning goals (2).
For the first time in her career, Petersen was named the MCAC Defensive Player of the Week. She recorded three shots and assisted the game-tying goal at CSM. For the season, Petersen has tallied two goals, two assists and 28 shots.
The Bruins (8-7-3, 4-2-0 MCAC) will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 14 when they play their second-straight match against Flames in the MCAC Tournament Semifinals in Bartlesville, Okla. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
