Bruins finish 12th at Roadrunner Invite
DALTON, Ga. -- Isabella Gomez posted the best round of the day for the Bellevue University women's golf team as the Bruins took home a 12th place finish at the highly competitive at the Dalton Road Runner Fall Invitational.
The event was the Bruins' final event of the fall and featured eight nationally ranked teams – including six of the top 10 – and two others that are receiving votes, making it arguably the strongest that BU has faced so far this season. The Roadrunner Fall Invitational was hosted by Dalton State College at the 5,844-yard, par 72 Dalton Country Club.
DSC's Jia Kataria took home the individual title with a 54-hole score of 5-over, including an even par 72 in Tuesday's final round. She edged out SCAD Savannah's Yunyi Luo, who began the day with a two-stroke lead, as Luo posted a 4-over 76 to finish at 7-over. Kataria's teammate Sara Burger finished third, three strokes back at 8-over.
Dalton State took home the team title with a three-round total score of 42-over 906, 16 strokes ahead of second place Marian (+58) with SCAD Savannah (+63) finishing third. Bellevue finished 12 in the loaded 15-team field with a score of 1,025.
