KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Bellevue University softball team extended its winning streak to three games after picking up a pair of wins on Tuesday at THE Spring Games. The Bruins defeated Judson University, 8-5, in the opener before closing the day with a 4-0 shutout over Spring Arbor University.
With the two wins, the Bruins improved to 7-8 on the season.
Bellevue will be idle on Wednesday before resuming action at the tournament on Thursday (Mar. 7) with a 9:15 a.m. contest against Spring Arbor and an 11:30 a.m. matchup with Judson.

BU outslugged the Eagles, 11-9, and battled back from two deficits to record the 8-5 win over JU in the opening game of the day.
The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI infield single by Amaya Chavez that scored Amelia Jimenez from third.
Judson extended the margin to 2-0 in the top of the second frame on an RBI single to left field by Bella Farias.
A lead-off solo homer by Alexa Sidel sparked a three-run third inning as BU gained a 3-2 advantage. The Bruins also scored on a fielder's choice RBI by Madison Machacek and an infield groundout RBI by Lexi Blankenfeld.
JU answered back in the top of the fourth, scoring two runs to regain the lead at 4-3 following a fielder's choice RBI by Tatyana Chavez and an RBI single to right field by Amaya Chavez.
The Bruins countered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, scoring on a sacrifice fly to left field by Katie Cunningham, an RBI single to left field by Breanne McMurtry, and a sacrifice fly to center field by Machacek, as BU took a 6-4 advantage heading into the fifth frame.
A sacrifice fly to left field by Farias drove in Grace Pekoc, drawing the Eagles to within a run at 6-5 in the top of the fifth.
The Bruins scored a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth following a JU fielding error and an RBI single to center field by Machacek, pushing the advantage to 8-5.
Savannah Gunn, who entered the game in the second inning, picked up the win, improving to 2-2 on the season. She scattered eight hits with no walks and one strikeout in three innings of work.
Cory Carrillo notched her team-leading fourth save of the season after not allowing a hit in the final three innings of the contest.
Machacek drove in three runs in the win, and Sidel finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Keely Geise also went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored a run.

Katie Cunningham tossed a three-hit complete-game shutout to lead the Bruins to the 4-0 win over SAU.
A two-run single to center field by Atiana Rodriguez gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
The Bruins increased the lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth on an RBI single to left field by Laila Fiscus.
Machacek launched her first home run of the season, a solo shot to center field, to give the Bruins a 4-0 advantage in the top of the sixth stanza.
Cunningham evened her record at 4-4, allowing three hits with three walks and two strikeouts in seven innings in the circle.
