KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Freshman Andre Becerra has been selected as the NAIA National Golfer of the Week for his performance last week at the TPC Deere Run Invitational in Silvis, Ill.
Beccera (Guadalajara, Mexico) captured the individual title at the 11-team TPC Deere Run Invitational to lead the Bruins to a second-place finish at the event. He posted a two-round total of 6-under par 136 to come out atop the field of 60 golfers. Becerra fired identical rounds of 3-under-par in both rounds of the tournament.
Becerra becomes the second Bruin ever to win the prestigious weekly award. Nicolas Herrera won the award during the 2013-14 season.
Bellevue returns to the course on Tuesday-Wednesday, Apr. 11-12 when they venture to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Wildcat Cup at the Brickyard.
