Bruin Cross Country announces first signee for 2025
November 12, 2024The Bellevue University women's cross country/distance track program has announced the first signing of the 2025-26 recruiting class. Grace Steinmetz of Heartland Christian High School (Council Bluffs, Iowa) brings four years of track experience to the Bruins with a great range from sprints to long distances.

Nelson places in top 10 at Blazing Tiger Invite
October 26, 2024Madison Nelson continued her outstanding senior cross country campaign with a tenth-place finish at today's Blazing Tiger Invite. Doane University and College of St. Mary's were the host schools for Saturday's meet at Mahoney State Park, which featured six of the top 20 NAIA teams in the latest NAIA national ranking.

Nelson runs 13th-fastest NAIA time at Gans Creek Classic
September 27, 2024Nelson ran 22:33.0, which was the fourth fastest 6-kilometer time in Bruin history. She placed 36th in the field of 307 runners in the Open race. She was the thirteenth NAIA runner behind five members of the No. 4-ranked Taylor University squad and three more from No. 5 Cumberlands University.

September 24, 2024For the second time this season and the 13th time in her Bellevue University career, senior All-American Madison Nelson has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at last week's Greeno/Dirksen Invitational host by the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Nelson finishes on the Awards Podium at Greeno/Dirksen
September 21, 2024Two-time All-American Madison Nelson turned in another impressive outing at Saturday’s Greeno/Dirksen Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan and the University of Nebraska. She cracked the individual awards podium for the first time in three tries at this meet with an 18:55.6 clocking over the five-kilometer course. The meet was run over the gently rolling hills of Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln, which had very warm and humid conditions impacting times. Her 36th place finish in the field of 230 runners followed the finishes of mostly NCAA Division I athletes and four women from NAIA No. 1 ranked University of Saint Mary (Kan.).

Bruins open 2024 season with historic run
September 06, 2024The Bellevue University men's and Women's cross country teams opened their 2024 campaign at Friday's Augustana Twilight and walked away with a historic performance. The evening races held at Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls were run in near-perfect distance running conditions with temperatures in the low 70s and a light breeze.
