BU Cross Country signs Plattsmouth's Taylor Caba

Bellevue University head cross country coach Craig Christians announced the first signee in the 2020 class with the addition of Taylor Caba (Plattsmouth, Neb./Plattsmouth HS). Caba will continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2020. 

The daughter of Pam and Brian Caba, Taylor brings an impressive resume' of track performances from 800 to 3,200 meters. She has earned three medals at the Nebraska State Track meet including two as a junior last spring in the 4 x 800-meter relay and 1,600-meter run. She qualified in four events at the 2017 Nebraska State Track Meet finishing second in the 4 x 800-meter relay. 

She was the Eastern Midlands Conference champion in the 3,200 meters in 2019 and was the District B-2 runner-up in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Her 4 x 800 team won the 2019 District B-2 title. 

A versatile athlete, Caba was also a four-year letterwinner for Plattsmouth HS in volleyball and basketball. She earned all-conference honorable mention honors in volleyball in 2019. 

 "I am very excited to welcome Taylor to the Bruin cross country and track family," said Christians. "She brings the entire athletic package as evidenced by her career in volleyball and basketball where she was a starter for most of her high school career. I believe the transition to cross country is going to be an easy one for Taylor, knowing her athletic ability and the training she received under Coach Nott at Plattsmouth."

The Bruins will begin the outdoor track season when they travel to Wayne, Neb. on March 28 to compete in the Wayne State Wildcat Classic.
