BELLEVUE, Neb. -- As part of the Side Out Foundation's "Dig Pink" campaign, the Bellevue University volleyball team will wear pink ribbons and shoe laces in its match against conference rival College of the Ozarks on Friday, Oct. 19.

"Dig Pink" is an annual fundraiser to help promote breast health and cancer awareness and to raise money to contribute to the research and compassionate support projects Side-Out funds. This event gives the volleyball community the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of all breast cancer patients.

"The volleyball community has reached out in a very special way for this foundation to grow and we want to be a part of it," said Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik. "Not only from an awareness standpoint, but because this disease hit home for our program. With the passing of Caitlyn's (Rueth) mother in 2011, this has brought our team to another level beyond the court. We want to remember those affected, and to help in any way we can."

The Bruins are 23-9 overall and 5-0 in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

College of the Ozarks and Bellevue are both undefeated in league play. The winner of Friday's match will be in the driver's seat for the MCAC regular-season title. The regular season champion will host the MCAC Tournament on Nov. 9-10.
