Bernal lands A.I.I. Player of the Week award

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University freshman Sinai Bernal (Bennington, Neb.) has been named the Association of Independent Institutions' Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the A.I.I. office.

Bernal, a midfielder, scored a goal and added two assists to lead BU to a 4-2 win over College of St. Mary on Saturday, the seventh-straight win for the team. On the season, Bernal now has totaled four goals and two assists.

The award is the first of Bernal's career and the third-straight week in which a Bruin has earned the honor.  Bernal becomes the fourth different Bruin to be named A.I.I. Player of the Week this season and the team's sixth selection in total.

Bellevue hosts Waldorf University on Wednesday, Mar. 17 for a 5 p.m. kick-off from Papillion Landing.
