LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior midfielder Bruna Cola Bielski (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) has been recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions as the Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the A.I.I. office on Monday.
Bielski scored twice in the Bruins' lone game this past week, a 3-0 home victory over Central Christian College. Following a scoreless first half, Bielski put the Bruins on the board less than two minutes after halftime and scored a second goal in the 63rd minute to double the BU lead and provide some insurance.
She joins teammate Marilia Lages (Sept. 21) as winners of the A.I.I.'s weekly honor. Bielski now leads the team with four goals and nine points on the season.
Bellevue is next scheduled to host Morningside College on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff from Papillion Landing.
