Temple leads BU to first after opening day at Bruin Spring Break Invite

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- Senior Allison Temple fired a 2-over 74 Saturday as the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in first place in the six-team Bruin Spring Break Invite at the 5,850-yard, par-72 Landa Park Golf Course. 

Temple is currently in second place in the individual standings, helping BU to an overall team score of 317. The Bruins are nine strokes ahead of second-place Ottawa University (Ariz.). NCAA Division II Lubbock Christian University is in third at 327. 

Wayland Baptist's Laura Klimova leads the 30-player field after shooting a 1-over 73. 

Sophomore Shanice DeGee is currently in third at 5-over par. Sophomore Tylah Saifoloi is tied for fourth after carding an 8-over 80. 

Senior Dominika Gradecka rounded out the Bruin scoring with a 14-over 86, which puts her in 19th place in the individual standings.  

Sunday's second and final round will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
