MADISON, S.D. -- Sophomore Tylah Saifoloi has earned North Star Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week honors for her two top-15 performances in the Bruins' two tournaments this past week.
Saifoloi placed ninth in the prestigious Northwest Iowa National Invitational (5,963 yards – par 72 – 45 total golfers), posting her three best rounds of the season at the Willow Creek Golf Club. Playing consistently throughout the tournament, she shot 76 in the first round, followed by rounds of 75 and 77. Saifoloi finished with a total of 228 strokes in the tournament (12-over par). Her second round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5, 488-yard third hole.
She also competed in the Lila Frommelt Classic (5,824 yards – par 71 – 86 total golfers) on Sept. 18-19, where she placed 14th in the two-day tournament with rounds of 80 and 88.
For the week, Saifoloi registered 11 birdies and one eagle in her five rounds of play.
The Bruins will next compete in the Iowa Western Community College Collegiate Showcase next Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 28-29. The tournament will be played at the Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
