Saifoloi paces BU on second day of NW Iowa Invite

LeMARS, Iowa -- Sophomore Tylah Saifoloi turned in the Bruins' top round of the day to pace the Bellevue University women's golf team's efforts in the final round of play in the Northwest Iowa National Invite being played at the 5,963-yard, par-72 Willow Creek Golf Club. 

Saifoloi fired a five-over 77 on Tuesday, to help her to a ninth-place finish in the 45-player field. Her round was highlighted by four birdies. Saifoloi finished the tournament at 12-over with rounds of 76-75-77. 

Senior Allison Temple finished the tournament with a 9-over 81, to put her in a tie for 12th place with a three-round total of 16-over par (77-74-81).  

Sophomore Shanice DeGee was the third Bruin in the event, finishing in 15th place after carding an 11-over 83 in Tuesday's third round, putting her at 19-over par for the tournament. 

Morningside's Laia Badosa ran away with the individual title by 11 strokes after going 9-under for the tournament with rounds of 66-68-73.

Morningside won the team title by 11 strokes over Texas Wesleyan, finishing with a team total of 13-over par (285-289-303). 

The Bruins did not field a team score in the event. 

Bellevue will be idle until Oct. 12-13 when it travels to Oklahoma City, Okla. to compete in the Sydney Cox Invitational.
