Bruins in fifth place after opening round at Hillcat Classic

Results

OWASSO, Okla. -- Led by Faustina Peve, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in fifth place in the seven-team Hillcat Classic being hosted by Rogers State University at the par-72, 5,890-yard Bailey Ranch Golf Course.

Peve shot an opening-round score of 6-over-par 78 and is currently in a tie for fourth place in the 41-player field. 

The Bruins fired a team score of 342 on the day. Oklahoma Christian leads the tournament with an 18-hole total of 20-over-par 308. Bellevue is two shots off of fourth-place Arkansas-Monticello's total of 340. 

Kim Moore, Allison Temple, and Madison Brooks each shot 88 on Monday and the trio is tied for 28th place. 

Oklahoma Christian's Kate Goodwin leads the tournament field at even-par 72.  

The final round will begin on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
