Bruin softball partners with Young Life

As part of the ongoing NAIA Champions of Character initiative, the Bellevue University softball team recently partnered with the Young Life organization, reaching out to area youth with down syndrome,  autism, and other special needs. It marked the second year of Bellevue softball's partnership with Young Life.

The Bruins met with members of Young Life and played a friendly game of softball which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.

"We had such a great time working and playing with the youth from Young Life," said head coach Michala Cimino. "Our student-athletes found the experience extremely rewarding and everyone looks forward to continuing the partnership into the forseeable future."

The Bruins participated in the event during their final week of off-season training.

Bellevue opens the 2013 season at the Oklahoma Baptist Tournament on Feb. 22-23 in Shawnee, Okla.
