Bruin Men's XC welcomes second signing

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University cross country coach Craig Christians announced today the signing of Dixon Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya/Carl Sandburg/Kipsangui HS) to a Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall.

Kiptoo comes to Bellevue from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill. where he earned his Associate's Degree in IT/LAN, Security Specialist and numerous other certificates. He earned NJCAA All-Academic honors in each the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

While at Sandburg, Kiptoo ran cross country for two seasons where he ran an 8K PR of 28:27 at the Sauk Valley Skyhawk Invite, placing 10th overall. Despite being relatively new to competitive running, Kiptoo was CSC's number two or three man throughout the majority of his JuCo cross country career.

Coach Christians on Kiptoo:

"I'm thrilled to welcome Dixon to the Bruin cross country team. I think he has a great deal of potential and I cannot wait to begin working with him. He comes with high praise from his former coach as both a student and a citizen and I think he is going to be a great fit here."

Kiptoo joins earlier signee Gabe Poppen (Glenwood, Iowa/Cornerstone Christian) in the Bruins 2020 recruiting class.

In just their second year of competition, the BU men's cross country team earned a fourth place finish at the NSAA Cross Country Championships and registered a sixth place showing at the NSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
