Record-breaking performance lands Aldao another A.I.I. honor

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- For the third time this season and fourth time in his career, Bellevue University senior Inaki Aldao (Buenos Aires, Argentina) has been recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions' Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the A.I.I. office on Monday.

Aldao scored three goals to lead Bellevue to a 5-0 win over Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday. In doing so, he broke the single-season record for goals in a season. His final strike moved him ahead of Mark Heath-Preston with his 18th in just 13 games played.

This season, Aldao ranks third nationally with 18 goals and fourth with 38 points. The Argentine has now scored three hat tricks this season and tallied nine multi-goal games in his brilliant career.

For his career, Aldao has tallied 43 goals and 10 assists. His goal total is just two off Heath-Preston's career mark of 45 while his 96 points are good for third in program history behind only Heath-Preston (107) and Jon Pagel (99).

The No. 15-ranked Bruins (10-4-1) host Waldorf University on Wednesday, Mar. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off from Papillion Landing.
