HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Jaeger Erickson scored just over two minutes in and AJ Jarvis pitched a shutout in goal as the (RV) Bellevue University men's soccer team defeated Hannibal-LaGrange University 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Blackwell Field.

(RV) Bellevue: 5-6-0
Hannibal-LaGrange: 4-3-0

Recap: (RV) Bellevue 1, Hannibal-LaGrange 0

Bellevue wasted no time getting on the board with a strike from Jaeger Erickson in the third minute off a pass from Austyn Brinkley. The goal was the first of Erickson's Bruin career.

Hannibal-LaGrange controlled play the remainder of the first half, generating a far greater number of chances but were unable to pull back the equalizer as the Bruins took a 1-0 lead into the break.

By the intermission, HLGU had out-shot Bellevue 13-4 (7-2 on goal) and won five corners to BU's two.

The second half was played more evenly as the Trojans out-shot the Bruins by a narrower 6-4 margin but did not put another shot on frame in the period.

AJ Jarvis made seven saves in goal to preserve his, and the team's, fourth clean sheet of the season.

Coach Mark Heath-Preston:

"I was very happy to see the improvements we made and was happy to see Jaeger Erickson score."
