BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team, under head coach Matt Briggs, has announced that the team's home game on Saturday, Aug. 22 will be in support of Red Card Cancer.

The game, slated for a 5:30 p.m. start at Bellevue Soccer Club, pits Grand View University against the host Bruins.

Bellevue and Grand View have met on the pitch 13 times with the Vikings holding an 8-5 edge in the all-time series. Grand View finished the 2014 season ranked fifth nationally after reaching the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals while Bellevue made their first NAIA National Tournament final site appearance since 2009, finishing the season ranked No. 11.

The teams will be raising funds via selling t-shirts and wristbands leading up to and at the game. Individuals interested in helping may do so by logging on to Red Card Cancer's website or Facebook page to learn more and by purchasing anything the BU Soccer team is selling as a fundraiser.

Their mission statement is as follows:

A Cure Is Our Goal. Red Card Cancer is a call to action to help defeat the world's biggest opponent by uniting the global game of soccer in the fight against cancer.
