BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The third-ranked Bellevue University men' basketball team rebounded from two-straight losses earlier in the week with a convincing 88-59 victory over Central Baptist College Saturday night in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. 

Belleuve improved to 23-5 on the season and 9-3 in the MCAC. Central Baptist dropped to 10-15 overall and 4-8 in league play. 

Taylor Young led the Bruins with 23 points, five rebounds and three assists. Thomas Hammock finish with 14 points and was 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Alex Worthen-Harris narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. 

Tony Brewster and Jayln McBride poured in 11 points apiece to pace the Mustang offense. 

Bellevue scored the first nine point of the game and held the Mustangs to 30.4 percent shooting to grab a 38-18 advantage at the half. Young paced the Bruins in the first period with 11 points and three rebounds. Worthen-Harris added nine points and seven rebounds.

Central Baptist never got closer than 20 in the second half as Bellevue scored the first seven points of the period to all but put the game away.

Hammock's four three-pointers give him 194 for his career and move him into sole possession of third on the Bellevue career list.

Prior to the game, Bellevue's four seniors, Percy Lemle, Dimitri Chonis, Alex Worthen-Harris, and Thomas Hammock were honored in a pregame ceremony as part of Senior Day.

The Bruins wrap up the regular season next weekend with games at Central Christian (Friday, 7:30 p.m.) and at York (Saturday, 5:00 p.m.)

The Bruins travel to McPherson, Kan. next Friday, Feb. 20 for a 7:30 p.m. MCAC contest at Central Christian College.
