Weekly BU eSports Update: Feb. 28

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University eSports program completed its first week with three competitive teams following the debut of the Hearthstone team in the Tespa Regional League.

Hearthstone: 0-1 overall

Bellevue's Hearthstone team made its competitive collegiate debut on Tuesday evening. They started strong by taking the first game in the best-of-five match but, ultimately, fell to Missouri Valley College, 3-2.

League of Legends: 2-3 overall

Playing their fifth RIOT CLoL match of the season, Bellevue was bested by Adrian College by a 2-0 score. Adrian improved to 3-2 while BU dropped to 2-3 in North Conference Play. With one match left in the season, Bellevue still has a chance to salvage a .500 record for the season.

Overwatch: 20-2 overall

The Overwatch team won all three of its early round playoff matches last week. On Saturday, BU downed Dakota Wesleyan and Central Methodist by identical 3-0 scores in the Tespa Varsity Sub-Regional Playoffs to move within a victory of claiming a spot in the regional finals.

BU followed that up by sweeping a 3-0 victory over UC-Colorado Springs on Sunday in the Tespa Regional Playoffs Round of 16 after earning a bye through the Round of 32.
