Mike Livergood

Mike Livergood enters his 31st season as the Bellevue University head athletic trainer in 2021/22 and was enshrined in Bellevue University Hall of Fame in August of 2019.

Livergood was awarded the NAIA Athletic Trainer of the Year award in 2008 and has attended multiple NAIA National Tournaments with the Bruin baseball and basketball programs. He was recognized at the NATA-NAIA Athletic Trainer of the Year for the 2015-16 season and the North Star Athletic Association Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2018-19. 

Since 1994, he has been an associate athletic trainer with the Justin Sports Medicine Program, which supports the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA). Livergood is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association, Nebraska State Athletic Trainers Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

In 2016, Livergood became the first member of the BU athletic department to have earned the Bellevue University Award for Ethical Leadership.

The Kansas native earned Bachelor of Science and master’s degrees at Fort Hays State University in 1988 and 1990, respectively. Livergood also teaches classes within the health and human performance program at Bellevue University.

He lives in Bellevue with his wife, Sara, and sons, Jake and Matt.
