BU Extends Winning Streak to Seven with 3–1 Win at RMC

BILLINGS, Mont. -- The seventh-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team extended its winning streak to seven matches with a 3–1 Frontier Conference victory at Rocky Mountain College on Friday evening inside the Fortin Education Center. Set scores were 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-14.
The Bruins rebounded from a narrow first-set loss to take command of the match, hitting over .340 in each of the final three frames. The win also featured a career milestone for senior Eve Fountain, who moved into second place on Bellevue's all-time kills list.
Savanna Berger paced the Bruins with a match-high 15 kills on a stellar .667 hitting percentage, while adding six total blocks for a team-best 20.0 points. Kealy Kiviniemi posted 13 kills with a .429 attack percentage, and Fountain added 13 kills to power BU's offense. Bentlee Kollbaum chipped in nine kills and one block assist.
Setters Mila Aiwohi and Jada Nunn distributed the offense efficiently, finishing with 29 and 20 assists, respectively, as the Bruins hit .299 as a team. Defensively, Zoie Roghair collected a match-high 21 digs, and Ali Butler added 12. Bellevue held advantages in digs (70-56) and blocks (12-5) while limiting the Battlin' Bears to a .082 hitting percentage.
Set 1: Rocky Mountain 25, Bellevue 23
BU raced out to a 5-0 lead behind the serve of Audrey Sandfort, but RMC responded midway through the frame with a 7-1 surge to grab the lead. The Battlin' Bears held off a late BU push to take the opener, 25-23.
Set 2: Bellevue 25, Rocky Mountain 13
Bellevue quickly turned the tide, using a 10-1 run early in the set to build a double-digit advantage. Berger and Kiviniemi combined for seven kills in the frame as BU hit .356 and evened the match at one set apiece.
Set 3: Bellevue 25, Rocky Mountain 17
The Bruins maintained their momentum, hitting .353 while controlling the net defensively with four team blocks. Fountain and Kiviniemi each produced key kills during a mid-set push that broke the frame open as BU took a 2–1 lead.
Set 4: Bellevue 25, Rocky Mountain 14
BU fell behind 5–3 before steadying and using a mid-set push — highlighted by kills from Kiviniemi, Berger, and Fountain — to go up 12–9. After RMC closed to 16–12, the Bruins finished it off by taking 9 of the final 11 points to lock down the 25–14 clincher.
The victory completed a season sweep of the Battlin' Bears, as Bellevue recorded a 3-0 home win on Sept. 12.

Fountain Moves to No. 2 on All-Time Kills List
With her 13 kills Friday, Eve Fountain climbed into second place on Bellevue's career kills chart with 1,756, surpassing Brenda Quinn (1997–2000), who finished with 1,749. Sierra Athen (2018–22) remains the program leader with 1,886 career kills.
