Galas honored as NAIA National Setter of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- For the third time in her career, Olivia Galas has been honored as the NAIA National Setter of the Week. The junior from Bellevue, Neb. (Omaha Gross HS) helped lead the Bruins to three-consecutive sweeps last week, moving the Bruins to 3-0 in North Star Athletic Association play. 

Galas, who also garnered NSAA Setter of the Week honors for the 16th time in her career, produced at least 30 set assists in all three matches, guiding the Bruins to the three sweeps. She dished out 39 assists and collected seven digs in the 3-0 victory over Viterbo. Galas followed that up with 36 assists, four digs, and a pair of blocks in the win over Waldorf and finished the week with a double-double of 30 assists and 11 digs in BU's sweep over VCSU.  

For the week, she averaged 11.67 assists and 2.44 digs per set while adding five total blocks. 

Galas currently leads the NSAA and ranks fifth nationally with 10.92 assists per set.  

The Bruins (3-1, 3-0 NSAA) will head to Madison, S.D. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a key NSAA contest at Dakota State University. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
