MADISON, S.D. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team swept the weekly North Star Athletic Association volleyball honors with three Bruins winning conference accolades. 

Senior outside hitter Andrea Carson was named the NSAA Attacker of the Week, junior Olivia Galas was honored as the NSAA Setter of the Week and freshman Anna Koehler was recognized as the NSAA Defender of the Week. 

Carson averaged 4.4 kills and 2.7 digs per set, fueling the Bruins to a 3-0 record for the week at home. She tallied 15 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 sweep over Viterbo (Wis.), recording her 1,000th career kill. She followed up with 14 kills and nine digs in a sweep over Waldorf (Iowa). Carson had 11 kills and six digs in the 3-0 victory over Valley City State (N.D.). For the week, Carson racked up 40 kills and 24 digs. She recorded a hitting percentage of .436, with just six errors on 76 swings. 

Galas, who garnered NSAA Setter of the Week honors for the 16th time in her career, produced at least 30 set assists in all three matches, guiding the Bruins to three-straight sweeps. She dished out 39 assists and collected seven digs in the 3-0 victory over Viterbo. Galas followed that up with 36 assists, four digs, and a pair of blocks in the win over Waldorf and finished the week with a double-double of 30 assists and 11 digs in BU's sweep over VCSU.  

Koehler averaged 6.3 digs per set as Bellevue returned to action with three dominating 3-0 sweep home victories on three-consecutive days. She had 19 digs, two assists, and two service aces in the three-set victory over Viterbo. Koehler then followed that up with 22 digs, two assists, and an ace in the victory over Waldorf. She had 16 digs, seven assists, and one ace in the 3-0 sweep over VCSU. For the week, Koehler accumulated 57 digs, 11 assists, and four service aces. She recorded a reception rate of 96.7 percent (60 total receptions with two reception errors).

The Bruins will head to Madison, S.D. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a key NSAA contest at Dakota State University. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
