Bruins rebound with four-set win over Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Led by sophomore middle Coree Lipovsky, the 13th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team rebounded from Friday night's loss to Viterbo with a 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 13-25, 25-11) victory at Waldorf University Saturday evening at the Hanson Fieldhouse.  

With the win, the Bruins improved to 25-6 on the season and 10-3 in the NSAA. Waldorf fell to 12-17 overall and 4-9 in league play. 

Lipovsky led the Bruins with 12 kills on .706 hitting while adding a match-high four blocks. Sierra Athen recorded her team-leading 18th double-double of the season, finishing with 12 kills and 12 digs. 

Olivia Galas collected a double-double with 41 assists and 12 digs while adding five kills, directing the BU offense to a .239 hitting percentage. 

Madi Evans (16) and Paige Holdsworth (13) combined for 29 digs to anchor the BU defense. 

Kyra Platzek paced the Warriors with 14 kills and 10 digs. Elizabeth Tramm added 31 assists, seven digs, five kills and two blocks.  

The Bruins will conclude the regular season next Friday, Nov. 8, when they travel to Madison, S.D. to take on Dakota State University beginning at 7 p.m. in the DSU Fieldhouse.
