NSAA Release

MADISON, S.D. -- Sophomore Olivia Galas, who lead the Bruins to a pair of conference home sweeps last weekend, earned her ninth North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week honor in an announcement made today by the league office.

Galas averaged an impressive 14.5 assists per set in the two victories over Mayville State University and Presentation College. She also picked up 16 digs, five service aces, four blocks, and a pair of service aces.

In the 3-0 win over MSU, Galas dished out 45 assists, while adding six digs, four kills, and a service ace. The victory helped avenge the Bruins' season-opening five-set loss at Mayville. She followed that up with 42 assists in the sweep over Presentation, while adding 10 digs for her 12th double-double of the season.

Galas currently ranks first in the league and sixth nationally with 11.0 assists per set. She ranks seventh in the nation with 1,111 total assists.

The Bruins travel to (RV) College of St. Mary on Tuesday, Oct. 29 for a 7:30 p.m. match with the Flames at the Lied Fitness Center.
